Request a commission

Tell me about a place that means something to you, the colours you live with, and the wall it’s for. I’ll paint the feeling of it, not a copy of a photo.

  1. Share your idea. Fill in the form below and add a photo for inspiration if you have one.
  2. We agree the details. I’ll confirm size, price and timeline with you before I start.
  3. I paint it. Early mornings, before daybreak. I’ll send you progress photos along the way.
  4. It comes home. Collection in Bloemfontein or courier anywhere in South Africa.

Originals have sold for between R2 800 and R6 300. Commission prices depend on size.

A photo of the place, a colour you love, or the wall it’s for. Up to 8 MB.

Inspiration

Where the paintings begin

The clouds show me the magnitude of the Lord. I can’t stop looking at them.

In 2022 I fell ill, and I lost the business I had built. In that season I felt the Lord nudging me toward painting. I only truly obeyed after we moved to Bloemfontein, and when I picked up the brushes, the paintings came. I have no formal training. Every canvas is His work, not mine.

I paint the places I have been and the places where I find peace: the Lowveld where I grew up, the wide Free State plains, and above all the sky. Clouds run through almost everything I paint.

I rarely work from a sketch or a photograph. A scene might catch my eye once, but I seldom go back to the picture. I memorise the places I’ve stood in and paint from that memory. I’m not trying to record a place accurately. I’m trying to get the feeling of it exactly right.

When you stand in front of one of my paintings, I want you to feel you have space to breathe. I want you to feel peace, and the Lord’s covering over you. My work often carries sadness and deep feeling, because that is part of being human. But underneath it there is always a pull back toward Him. He keeps you safe, and He has His eye on you, even in your lowest moments.

    The artist

    About me

I grew up in Phalaborwa, on the edge of the Kruger National Park in Limpopo. The bushveld, with its heat, colour and endless horizons, was the landscape of my childhood.

I started painting in 2024, after we moved to Bloemfontein. I’m self-taught and mentored by artist Ingrid Uys, and I paint abstract landscapes and cloudscapes in oil and acrylic as a Christian artist inspired by His works.

Outside the studio I work in marketing, and I’m a wife and a mom of two. My painting happens before the day begins. Most mornings I’m at the easel by 4 a.m., working in the quiet as the sky changes toward daybreak. It’s how I start every day: in peace.

Around 25 of my paintings now hang in private homes. Every one is a one-of-a-kind original. I don’t make prints, so each painting exists only once. New work is released here first, and commissions are welcome.
